Kristina Smokrović completed her undergraduate studies in chemistry (2014) and obtained her Masters degree in chemistry (2016) at the Department of Chemistry, Faculty of Science (PMF-KO), University of Zagreb. Since 2016, she has been employed as a research assistant at the PMF-KO.
She enrolled in the doctoral study of chemistry, majoring in Inorganic and Structural Chemistry in 2016 (mentor: Assoc. Prof. Ivica Đilović, PhD). She obtained her PhD in 2021.
She is engaged in the research of coordination compounds of transition metals with amino acids and their derivatives in the solid state. As part of her research, she deals with synthesis (in solution and solid state), crystallization, X-ray structural, spectroscopic and thermal analysis. She is the co-author of 3 scientific papers.
Participates in classes from several courses at the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry.
She is the immediate supervisor of a defended master's thesis(2019).
2012-2016 she was the head of the student section of the Croatian Chemical Society
2016. she received a medal from the Department of Chemistry for outstanding achievement during her studies.
2016-2019. she is a mentor at the event Open Day of the Department of Chemistry / Day and Night at the Faculty of Science.
